A light fruity style of Merlot
$85 each
From a stand out vintage 2014 has aged beautifully. The nose is herbaceous, with red fruit aromas. This is rounded out by the palate that is medium bodied with rich berry flavours, with hints of leather and savoury overtones. Its fine grained tannins and balance integrated oak make a smooth, easy drinking merlot.

Hunter Merlot is a unique experience that can be hard to find, as Merlot can find the vintage season in the Valley a little to hot and fast for the delicate fruit. When you persevere however you are greatly rewarded.
A light fruity style of Merlot, Hunter fruit still has plenty of structure allowing for a more complex integration of flavours on the palate.
Aromas of sweet cinnamon spiced plums begins the tasting experience. This is followed by a combination of red currants and earthy spices such as nutmeg and hints of cloves, which are encased in a light cherry red liquid.
It will cellar well for 3 to 5 years so enjoy at your leisure.
Matches well with a range of Italian dishes, especially tomato-based ones and it complements the ‘umami’ (deeply savoury) tastes you get in foods such as roast chicken, mushrooms and parmesan.
